A sturdy SUV in good condition.
That's what Olga Terry had in mind when she went to Sibley Car Credit.
"I just wanted to make sure transportation was not breaking down on the highway," she said.
She says she put down a $1,000 cash deposit.
"It meant a lot to me," she said.
But Terry never got a chance to drive her dream vehicle off the lot because financing failed to come through--twice.
When she couldn’t get her money back – she reached out to NBC 5.

"We never got the vehicle or the money back," she said. " ... but they still have my money."
Audrey has a learning disorder. She believes the salesman took advantage of her.
"He figured I'm slow," she said.
Audrey Terhune is a close friend of Terry's.
"I think they were seeing if they could take money," Terhune said. "They thought they could get a way with it."
She contacted the attorney general's office, the mayor of Dolton and an attorney to try and get the cash back.
The police were called on an NBC 5 crew that went to the car dealership.
The Illinois Attorney General's website clearly says that "consumers unable to secure financing are entitled to receive his or her down payment back pursuant to the consumer fraud act."
"They can just give me my money back," Terry said. "I don't want nothing from them - except for what's mine."
Terry told NBC 5 late Tuesday the dealer called her promised to give her the cash back.
