School Staffer Finds Bullet in Classroom

Bullet pierced security window, regular window

An engineer arriving for work at a Southwest Side elementary school on Wednesday made a startling discovery in a classroom:  a bullet on the floor next to a desk.

The bullet apparently went through both a security window and a regular window at Davis Elementary School, at 3014 W. 39th Pl., sometime around 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Police are looking into whether it came from a shooting that was reported about a half-block away, when a man was shot in the leg.
