Police Warn of Robberies in Loop CTA Pedways

Authorities are warning people about a string of robberies that are happening in pedways of CTA train stations in Chicago's Loop.

Chicago police issued a community alert Sunday on three incidents in which five offenders have robbed pedestrians in the tunnels between the CTA Red and Blue Lines.

The suspects surrounded the victims and taken a designer belt, a cell phone and wallets, according to police.

They've also displayed a handgun and have struck and kicked the victims, officials said.

The incidents took place:

- Jan. 30 at 9:15 a.m. in the 100 block of South State Street

- Feb. 13 at 7 a.m. in the 200 block of South State Street

- Feb. 14 at 7 p.m. in the 200 block of South Dearborn Street

Commuters should be on the lookout, authorities warn, and report any suspicious activity to police.

Anyone with information on the suspects or the three incidents is asked to call police.
