All westbound lanes of I-88 near Aurora were closed after a crash Monday evening, according to the Illinois State Police.
Authorities said the crash occurred at 7 p.m. near Randall Road at mile marker 115.75. The incident involved two vehicles and numerous passengers, police said.
All victims were taken to three different area hospitals, and one was air-lifted with life-threatening injuries, authorities confirmed.
The cause of the accident was unclear, and all lanes remained closed as the investigation is ongoing.
