A Chicago Public School teacher is in hot water for posting a picture on her Facebook page that mocked one of her students.

A 7-year-old Overton Elementary School student showed up for school pictures on March 24 with Jolly Rancher candies tied to the ends of her braids, the Chicago Tribune reported.

CPS officials said the girl's computer teacher took her own photos of the girl's hair, then posted them on her Facebook page and made disparaging comments about the photos with her friends.

Another student's mother saw the pictures and alerted the girl's mother.

The girl's mother is now threatening a lawsuit against CPS. The photos have since been removed.

CPS spokesperson Monique Bond called it a case of poor judgment and is now investigating to see if any school policies were violated.
