White Sox-Royals Game Suspended by Rain

Game was suspended after a 40-minute delay

Friday night's game between Kansas City and Chicago has been suspended by rain with the Royals and White Sox tied at 2 heading into the ninth inning.

Managers Robin Ventura of the White Sox and Ned Yost of the Royals huddled with the umpires after the eighth inning, and then crew chief Tim Welke waved the players off the field.

The game was suspended after a 40-minute delay. Play was scheduled to resume Saturday at 1:10 CT with the Royals batting in the top of the ninth. Saturday's originally scheduled game will begin when the suspended game is over. 

Fans with tickets dated April 25 will be allowed to enter the ballpark to see both games. Tickets dated for April 24 will not be accepted for entry into the ballpark. Fans with tickets to the game on April 24 can exchange their ticket for a $10 outfield reserve seat for the conclusion of the suspended game as well as the regularly scheduled game.

Gates to the ballpark will open at 11:40 a.m. Comcast SportsNet Chicago, WSCR-AM 670 The Score and WRTO-AM 1200 will broadcast the conclusion of the suspended game and the regularly scheduled game at 1:10 p.m. CT.
