White Sox Doggedly Pursue New Guinness World Record

The South Side team is looking to pack U.S. Cellular Field with pups on Tuesday

The Chicago White Sox are well out of the playoff race, but they’re still trying to keep things interesting by pursuing a new Guinness World Record.

That record involves packing as many dogs into the team’s home stadium as possible when they host their annual “Bark at the Park” event at U.S. Cellular Field on Tuesday.

The annual event, which began back in 1996, invites fans to bring their four-legged friends to the ballpark for a game, and this year the White Sox are attempting to make it the biggest one yet.

According to a press release from the team, a minimum of 1000 dogs will be required for the team to break the record.

The lucky pooches attending the game will receive a White Sox bandana, and the dogs will also have access to water bowls and fire hydrant comfort station areas in the outfield concourse.
