Less than 30 minutes earlier, two people were shot — one fatally — in the Gage Park neighborhood.

A man and woman were outside in the 2200 block of West 50th Street about 2:10 a.m. when a vehicle pulled up and a male got out and shot them, police said.

The man, thought to be in his 20s or 30s, was shot in the head and dead at the scene, police said. The woman, 24, was shot in the good and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital. Her condition was not disclosed.

Two men, ages 19 and 20, were in the 5600 block of South Racine about 8:09 p.m. when another male walked up and shot them, police said.

Both were taken to Stroger Hospital, where the younger man died after he was shot in the head, police said. The older man was listed in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the back.

About 5:35 p.m., a 21-year-old man was shot in the chest and pronounced dead at the scene in the 2600 block of West Haddon, police said. Additional information was not immediately available.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office did not confirm the four most recent fatal shootings.

At 5:25 a.m., 56-year-old Carl Jackson was chased into a hallway of an apartment building in the 1000 block of West 77th Street, according to police and the medical examiner’s office. Once inside, the male who chased him shot Jackson several times.

Jackson, who lived on the same block, was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:45 p.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.

The most recent nonfatal shooting occurred in the Hermosa neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

A 23-year-old man was outside in the 2100 block of North Tripp about 5:39 a.m. when he was shot in the left arm, back and left armpit, police said.

He was taken to Community First Medical Center in “serious but stable” condition, according to police. The man was expected to be transferred to either Stroger Hospital or Mount Sinai Hospital.

The weekend’s first shooting left a 15-year-old boy in critical condition.

About 4:20 p.m., he was on a sidewalk in the 300 block of East 58th Street when a silver car pulled up and two gunmen got out to shoot him in the back and hip, according to Chicago Police.

The boy was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in critical condition, police said.

At least 10 other people have been wounded in weekend shootings.
