12 Wounded in First 11 Hours of Weekend Shootings Across Chicago

The most recent shooting left a 24-year-old man wounded on the city's West Side

At least 12 people have been hurt — one critically — in shootings in Chicago since Friday evening.

The most recent shooting occurred in the Homan Square neighborhood on the West Side.

A 24-year-old man was standing outside in the 3300 block of West Flournoy about 3:30 a.m. when two males walked up and shot him in the buttocks, police said. The two shooters got into a Nissan Maxima and drove off.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition stabilized, police said.

About 2 a.m., a 29-year-old man was standing in the 800 block of North Latrobe Avenue when he heard shots and felt pain, according police. He took himself to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park and is in good condition.

Twenty minutes earlier, a 25-year-old man was outside in the 1200 block of North Milwaukee when someone in a passing black vehicle shot him in the right foot, police said. He took himself to Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center, where he was listed in good condition.

About 1 a.m., two women, ages 38 and 35, were shot while standing in the 4800 block of South State Street, police said. The 38-year-old woman suffered a graze wound to the left hip and the 35-year-old woman was shot in the left abdomen. Both were taken to Stroger Hospital where their conditions were stabilized.

A 34-year-old man was driving in the 8100 block of South Laflin about 12:40 a.m. when he was shot in the legs and arms, police said. After he was shot, he drove himself to the Gresham District station at 7808 S. Halsted, police said. He was then taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition stabilized.

Ten minutes earlier, a 30-year-old man was inside a vehicle in the 10100 block of South State Street when he began to struggle with another male who shot in him in the right thigh, according to police. He was taken to Roseland Community Hospital where his condition was stabilized.

Shortly after 11 p.m. Friday, a 25-year-old man was outside a home in the 5900 block of South Halsted when he was shot in the buttocks, police said. He took himself to the University of Chicago Medical Center, though police did not disclose his condition.

About 9:55 p.m., a 32-year-old woman was standing on the sidewalk in the 6700 block of South Hermitage when she heard gunfire and felt pain, police said. She was taken to Christ Medical Center with gunshot wounds to her right leg and left hip. Her condition had stabilized.

A 27-year-old man was in the back seat of a vehicle in the 6200 block of West Bloomingdale about 8:35 p.m. when a male on foot shot him in the right arm, police said. He was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where his condition stabilized.

About the same time, a 19-year-old man was standing in the 700 block of North Latrobe when someone in a passing blue sedan shot him in the right leg, police said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition stabilized.

The weekend’s first shooting was reported about 5:40 p.m. Friday in the 5900 block of South Union, police said.

A 26-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk with another male at 5:42 p.m. in the 5900 block of South Union, according to police. The male heard shots and dropped to the ground. When he got up, he saw the 26-year-old was shot.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the head, police said.
