Four people are dead and at least eight others have been wounded in a violent start to the weekend in Chicago.
The city’s first fatal shooting occurred just after noon Friday in the 8000 block of South Dobson, according to Chicago police. A 19-year-old man was shot at approximately 12:21 p.m., and was rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition.
Police say the teen later died from his injuries, and an investigation is ongoing.
Approximately 90 minutes later, another man, a 20-year-old, was shot and killed in the 6600 block of South Winchester, police said.
The man was engaged in a verbal altercation with another man, who pulled out a gun and opened fire. The victim was struck in the right and left sides of his torso and in his back, and was taken to University of Chicago, where he later died.
No suspects are in custody in the shooting.
Just after 9 p.m. on Friday night, a 27-year-old man was standing on a sidewalk in the 1500 block of South Christiana when a person shot him in the head.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. No suspects are in custody, and Area Central Detectives are investigating.
Less than an hour later, a 29-year-old man was walking in the 100 block of North Kilbourn when multiple men approached him, and one shot him in the back and upper body multiple times, according to police.
The man was taken to Mount Sinai in serious condition, and he was later pronounced dead.
No suspect is in custody, and police are continuing to investigate.

Friday –
- An 18-year-old woman was standing on a sidewalk in the 3900 block of West Lexington when a white SUV approached and a person inside opened fire, striking her in the right ankle. She was taken to Mount Sinai in good condition. Another victim, a 23-year-old man, later reported being shot in the incident, and he’s also being treated at Mount Sinai.
- Just after 5:30 p.m. in the 1600 block of South Michigan Avenue, a 23-year-old man was in an alley behind a building when a man walked up to him, pulled out a gun, and shot him. The victim was shot in the left knee, and is in stable condition at Northwestern University Hospital, police say.
- In the 1000 block of West 102nd Street at approximately 8:58 p.m., a 33-year-old man was sitting in a vehicle when another car pulled up and a person inside opened fire, striking him in the left shoulder. The victim was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where he is listed in stable condition, police said.
- A 26-year-old man was standing outside a residence in the 8100 block of South Muskegon at approximately 10:37 p.m. when a man shot him in the throat and back, police said. The man was unable to relay further information, and witnesses were uncooperative. He was taken to the University of Chicago in serious condition.
Saturday:
- Just after midnight in the 10100 block of South Yates, a 30-year-old man was a passenger in a car when a person in another vehicle fired shots, striking him in the back, police said. The man was taken to University of Chicago in stable condition, but no other information is available at this time.
- In the 9700 block of South Dobson, a 49-year-old woman was discovered outside of a residence with a gunshot wound to her head, police said. She was taken to the University of Chicago in critical condition, and no one is in custody.
- A 44-year-old woman was driving a vehicle in the 8100 block of South Muskegon at approximately 11:43 a.m. when she was struck in the right shoulder by a gun shot. She was taken to Trinity Hospital in stable condition, police said.
