At Least 10 Wounded in Saturday Shootings

At least 10 people have been wounded in shootings across the city of Chicago on Saturday.

Just after 5 a.m., two men were shot in the 700 block of North Ridgeway, police said.

One of the victims, a 21-year-old, was shot in the mouth and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in stable condition. Another victim, a 24-year-old man, was shot in the buttocks and was taken to West Suburban in stable condition.

No one is in custody in connection with the shooting.

Here are the rest of Saturday’s shootings:

  • A 20-year-old man was walking in the 4300 block of West Flournoy at approximately 12:37 a.m. when two men emerged from a gangway and fired shots at him, police said. The man was struck in the leg, and he was taken to Mount Sinai in stable condition.
  • In the 100 block of South Waller, a 61-year-old man was walking just before 2 a.m. when he heard shots and felt pain in his ankle. According to police, the man didn’t know where the shots came from. He was taken to Mount Sinai in good condition.
  • A 26-year-old man is in stable condition at Roseland Hospital after he was shot in the leg, police said. The man was in an alley in the 400 block of East Kensington at approximately 2:10 a.m. when he saw a person in a vehicle fire shots at him.
  • In the 2900 block of South Loomis, an 18-year-old man was driving when he was shot in the arm. The man does not know where the shots came from. He is in stable condition at Rush.
  • Just after 3 a.m., a 27 year old man was walking in the 1100 block of South Mozart when he heard shots, police said. The man was shot in the leg, but did not see where the shots came from. He was taken to Mount Sinai in good condition.
  • A 20-year-old man is in stable condition after he was shot while sitting on a porch in the 3200 block of West Walnut, police said. A man emerged from a gangway and fired shots at him, striking him in the lower back. No one is in custody. 
  • At approximately 6:20 p.m., two men were shot in the 6800 block of South East End, police said. One of the men was shot in the back, and the other was shot in the groin. There was no immediate word on the condition of either victim.
