A 27-year-old man was fatally shot in the chest about 11 p.m Sunday near 61st and Bishop streets, police said. He was playing dice or a game of chance with another person when a disagreement began and he was shot several times.

Just hours later, a man in his 20s was shot dead in the 2600 block of South Ridgeway Avenue at 3:44 a.m. Monday in the Southwest Side Little Village neighborhood, police said.

At least ten others were injured in shootings throughout the city from Sunday afternoon until early Monday.

At 12:36 p.m. Sunday, a man was shot in the hand in the 8000 block of South St. Lawrence, according to police.

At 1:17 p.m, on the Southwest Side, an 18-year-old was shot in the head in the 5400 block of South Kostner Avenue, police said. He was hospitalized in "stable" condition.

At 2:35 p.m., a 22-year-old man was walking down an alley in the 3400 block of West 30th Street when someone opened fire, shooting him multiple times in the face, police said.

At 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, a man was shot in the leg in the South Side Englewood neighborhood near the intersection of West 72nd Street and South Claremont Avenue.

Just 20 minutes later in the West Side Austin neighborhood, gunfire struck a man on the street and also went through a window and injured a woman in her home.

The shooting happened about 11:50 p.m in the 1600 block of North Laramie Avenue, police said. A man in his early 20s was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood while a woman in her late 30s was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said. Both were listed in "stable" condition.

On the Far South Side, three women were shot -- in an incident sparked by apparent jealousy -- while walking down the street on the 100 block of West 113th Place with “new” male companions about 12:20 a.m. Monday.

The woman most seriously injured was shot in the chest and had to undergo surgery at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. Another woman who was shot in the hip was also at Christ Hospital but her injuries were not life-threatening, police said.

The third woman -- who was shot in both legs -- was taken to Roseland Hospital, also with non-life-threatening injuries. At 5:24 a.m. in the 4500 block of North Broadway, a gunman riding a bike shot a 20-year-old man who was walking on the street, police said. He was shot in the groin area and was hospitalized for non life-threatening injuries.
