One witness told the Chicago Sun-Times that four people were waiting to get on the bus when the fourth person in line -- a male -- opened fire on two others.

The woman, who is visiting from downstate, said both teens started hollering for their parents after they were shot.

"Everybody was screaming on the bus," she said.

The shooter ran off after firing shots and was not in custody by midday.

Route 126 Chicago Transit Authority buses were rerouted in the area while police investigated.
