Man Critical After Stray Bullet Goes Through Bedroom Window

No arrests had been made as of 5:45 a.m. Wednesday, police say

A man was critically wounded Tuesday night when he was hit in the head by a stray bullet while he was inside his home.

Police said the 50-year-old was in a second-floor bedroom of his home, on the 2100 block of West Garfield Boulevard, when shots were fired outside shortly before 11 p.m. One bullet went through the window and struck the victim.

The man was transported to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County where he was listed in critical condition, police department spokesman Ronald Gaines told NBC Chicago.

No arrests had been made as of 5:45 a.m. Wednesday.
