The grandmother of a man charged in connection with a weekend mob attack says her grandson is innocent.

Cordarrowe Mitchell appeared in court Friday charged with felony mob action and aggravated battery.

"He just got caught up in the middle of something," Deidra Mitchell said. "My grandson is not one to go out and start anything like that."

Mob attacks in Chicago have also included attacks on physicians at Northwestern Lurie Children's Hospitals.

Mitchell is being held on a $75,000 bond.
