Little Village Fire Spreads to Neighboring Buildings

Crews were called to the 4100 block of West 21st Place

A fire at a southwest side apartment building spread to neighboring buildings before fire officials could gain control.

Crews were called to the 4100 block of West 21st Place on Tuesday afternoon. At about 5 p.m., officials said four buildings were involved. The fire spread to a building on the west and two buildings on the east, according to the fire department.

The Chicago Transit Authority temporarily rerouted westbound No. 21 Cermak Road buses. Eastbound buses were not affected.

Fire officials said people were rescued but there were no injuries.
