Cubs Pass Out #FlyTheW Flags as Playoff Fever Hits Chicago

As the Cubs inch closer to their first playoff game on Friday, Cubs fever has taken over Chicago.

Throughout the day Wednesday, the team has been surprising fans at more than two dozen locations - passing out stickers, placards and towels all with the same message: Fly the W.

"I think you're gonna see the city erupt in celebration right?" Cubs fan Greg Wu said. "Old fans, new fans - you know we've been waiting for this for a long time, so it's gonna be great."

The Cubs planned the "#FlyTheW rolling rally" to drum up excitement, bringing mascot Clark the Cub, and former players Ryne Sandberg and Steve Trout to join the fun.

They started the day at Lakeview High School on Chicago's North Side, stopping at Advocate Illinois Masonic, Northwestern University, Willis Tower, and more, surprising fans along the way.

At 5 p.m., the #FlyTheW rolling rally will be at Daley Plaza at 50 W. Washington Street in the Loop, and they encourage everyone to follow the team on Twitter and Instagram to see where they might pop up next.
