Chicago Cubs to Square Off With Pirates in 2019 Little League Classic

As part of the Little League World Series, the Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Pirates will play in a very special game next season in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

On Sunday, MLB announced that the Cubs and Pirates will battle in the 2019 Little League Classic, played at BB&T Ballpark at Historic Bowman Field, next season.

The game, which will be entering its third year when the teams take the field, pits two MLB teams against one another at the iconic venue, with Little League teams from around the world taking in the game as part of the World Series that's contested in Williamsport every summer.

The game will be played Sunday, Aug. 18, 2019, and will be nationally televised. The game will be part of a series called the GEICO Summer Series, which will also feature the Detroit Tigers and Kansas City Royals playing a June game in Omaha, Nebraska ahead of the College World Series.
