Cubs Lose Game, Series to Reds in Wrigley Field Blowout

The Cubs have lost their last two series against the Reds

The Chicago Cubs have now lost their last two series against the Cincinnati Reds after dropping a blowout decision at Wrigley Field on Sunday afternoon.

José Quintana gave up six runs and 12 hits in 5.1 innings of work, and the bullpen wasn't much better as every reliever, including catcher Victor Caratini, gave up at least one run as the Reds exploded for 17 hits in the ballgame.

Cubs outfielder Kris Bryant left the game in the sixth inning after colliding with Jason Heyward while chasing a fly ball. Heyward was also removed from the game later in the contest.

Javier Báez and Willson Contreras accounted for the lone Cubs runs of the afternoon with a pair of solo home runs.

Eguenio Suárez went 2-for-3 with three RBI in the game, and Curt Casali hit a home run off of Caratini in the ninth inning.

After a 3-4 homestand, the Cubs will hit the road on Monday to take on the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park. The game will kick off a six-game road trip that will also take the Cubs to Busch Stadium for their first road series of the year against the St. Louis Cardinals.
