Chicago Bulls Projected to be Worst Team in NBA

After trading away Jimmy Butler and waiving Rajon Rondo, the Chicago Bulls have signaled they are ready for a rebuilding process, and a new projection suggests fans may be in for a long season.

According to ESPN Forecast’s projected standings, the Bulls are predicted to be the absolute worst team in the NBA in the 2017-18 season, with just 26 projected wins on the docket for the coming year.

The prediction isn’t all that surprising, considering that the team seems to be churning out every veteran piece that they had. Last year they dealt away impending free agent Taj Gibson, and this summer they’ve been even busier, shipping Butler to Minnesota and cutting Rondo loose after just one season with the team.

Now, there are reports that the Bulls are considering buying out veteran guard Dwyane Wade, who picked up his player option for the coming season.

If the Bulls were to finish with the worst record in the NBA, then they would have a 25 percent chance of winning the 2018 NBA Draft Lottery. They last owned the number one pick in the draft back in 2008, when they scored the winning combination despite having just a 1.7 percent chance of winning.

They ultimately used that pick on Derrick Rose, who won the 2011 NBA MVP Award with the team before knee injuries derailed his Bulls career.
