Chicago Blackhawks Set 2019-20 Preseason Schedule

The Blackhawks will play seven games, including one in Germany

The Chicago Blackhawks will get their 2019-20 season underway in Prague later this year, but fans will get a chance to see the team in preseason action prior to their trip overseas.

The Blackhawks, who will be looking to make the playoffs for the first time since 2017, will open their preseason with a pair of road games, taking on the Washington Capitals and Detroit Red Wings on back-to-back nights.

Their first home game of the exhibition slate will come on Sept. 18 when they welcome the Red Wings to the United Center.

The Capitals and the defending Eastern Conference champion Boston Bruins will also make appearances at the United Center during the preseason.

The team will wrap up their exhibition schedule on Sept. 29 when they take on Eisbaren Berlin, a professional hockey team that plays in the German League, in the German capital.

Mon., Sept. 16: at Washington 6 p.m.

Tues., Sept. 17: at Detroit 6:30 p.m.

Wed., Sept. 18: vs. Detroit 7:30 p.m.

Sat., Sept. 21: vs. Boston 7:30 p.m.

Wed., Sept. 25: vs. Washington 7:30 p.m.

Sat., Sept. 28: at Boston 2 p.m.

Sun., Sept. 29: at Eisbaren Berlin 12:30 p.m.

The Blackhawks will open the 2019-20 regular season on Oct. 4 against the Philadelphia Flyers in Prague. The Blackhawks will serve as the road team for the game, their first overseas since the 2009-10 season when they opened against the Florida Panthers in Helsinki, Finland.
