Bears to Take on Ravens in Pro Football Hall of Fame Game

The Bears will compete in the game for the fifth time

Chicago Bears fans planning a trip to Canton to see Brian Urlacher enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame just got even more incentive to go.

According to the NFL, the Bears will take on the Baltimore Ravens in the annual Hall of Fame game on Aug. 2.

The game, the first preseason game in the NFL each year, will feature the Bears for the fifth time according to the league, and the Ravens will appear in the game for the first time ever. It will kick off the Hall of Fame weekend, which will culminate with the induction of the 2018 Pro Football Hall of Fame class, which includes Urlacher and Ravens legend Ray Lewis.

The Bears last appeared in the game back in 2005, when they beat the Miami Dolphins 27-24. They were scheduled to play the St. Louis Rams in 2011, but the NFL lockout forced the cancellation of the game.

According to reports, the decision by the NFL to put the Bears in the game means that they can open training camp earlier this summer, reporting to Bourbonnais as early as July 18 if the team opts to do so.
