A woman was shot in the left side of her chest late Monday night when a bullet came through the window of her apartment on Chicago's south side, officials said.
The 20-year-old was in the rear room on the first floor of an apartment on the 7200 block of South Lowe Avenue, in the Englewood neighborhood, when the shot was fired. Police said they believed the shot was fired from the backyard.
The victim was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn and listed in stable condition as of Tuesday morning, police said.
No one was in custody, and police said they didn't believe the woman was the intended target.
