Carol Moseley-Braun Sells Hyde Park Home

Former U.S. Senator and Chicago mayoral candidate Carol Moseley Braun has sold the Hyde Park home she first put on the market nearly two years ago.

The nation's first African American female senator took a roughly $500,000 loss on the home she purchased in 2006 for $1.7 million, the Chicago Tribune reported Tuesday.

Moseley-Braun's listing agent in 2010 said the politician loved the five-bedroom, Prairie-style town home but said it was too big.

The sale comes just six weeks after foreclosure proceedings on the property.
