White Sox Pitcher Carlos Rodon Activated From Disabled List

After a big win on Tuesday night against the New York Yankees, Wednesday will be an even sweeter day for the Chicago White Sox as they welcome back one of the key pieces of their rotation.

The White Sox officially activated Carlos Rodon from the 60-day disabled list on Wednesday after he missed the first two months of the regular season with bursitis in his left biceps.

Rodon, who went 9-10 with a 4.04 ERA and 168 strikeouts last season, made several rehab starts before his return, and he’ll make his season debut against the Yankees on Wednesday night at Guaranteed Rate Field.

To make room for Rodon on the 40-man roster, the White Sox transferred Zach Putnam to the 60-day disabled list. They had cleared a spot for him on the active roster on Tuesday night by sending pitcher Juan Minaya back to Charlotte.
