Bears' Carey, Goldman Out for Sunday's Game Against Cowboys

On Saturday afternoon the Chicago Bears made their way down to Dallas for their Sunday showdown with the Cowboys, but two players did not make the trip to Texas as Eddie Goldman and Ka’Deem Carey stayed home.

Goldman, who suffered an ankle injury during the Bears’ Monday loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, is expected to miss a month or so with the injury, and while there’s no definitive timetable on Carey’s return, he will definitely miss this week’s game with a hamstring injury.

Linebacker Danny Trevathan has already been ruled out of the game as well with a thumb injury that required surgery, but another player dealing with a thumb issue did actually make the trip to Dallas: quarterback Jay Cutler.

Cutler, who suffered the injury in Monday’s loss, was listed as “doubtful” on the team’s final injury report on Friday afternoon. Head coach John Fox said that he will not name a starting quarterback for the game until 90 minutes before kick-off on Sunday, but it’s assumed that Brian Hoyer will get the start and Matt Barkley will back him up after the latter player was elevated from the practice squad earlier this week.

Nine other players were listed as questionable on the Bears’ injury report, including Alshon Jeffery and Tracy Porter, but all nine players made the trip to Dallas, so it’s not immediately clear who will be out and who will play against the Cowboys.
