Chicago Father, Son Rescued off Ariz. Mountain

Fire officials said the pair was uninjured, had water and made no medical complaints

A Chicago father and son on spring break in Arizona needed a helicopter rescue off a mountain on Thursday afternoon after they wandered off a trail and got lost.

The pair were on the east side of Camelback Mountain in Phoenix when they realized they might be in some trouble.

A helicopter from the Phoenix Fire Department responded after the father used his cell phone to call for help.

Crews rescued the father first before returning for the 5-year-old boy.

Fire officials said the pair was uninjured, had water and made no medical complaints.

Video of the rescue as well as an interview with the rescuers is online at AZCentral.com.
