Authorities Investigating After Body Found at Suburban Golf Course

The body was that of a 37-year-old woman, believed to be the victim of a suspected homicide, officials said

Authorities are investigating after a woman's body was found at a golf course in suburban Bensenville Thursday, officials said.

Around 8:15 a.m., an employee of the Bensenville Park District discovered the body near the entrance of the White Pines Golf Course, located in the 500 block of West Jefferson Street, according to park district spokesperson Rick Robbins.

“It’s really bizarre that something like that can happen so close to hope,” neighbor Katie Dipietra said.

The body was found to be that of a 37-year-old woman, believed to be the victim of a suspected homicide that occurred in the 11500 block of Grand Avenue earlier in the morning, according to the Cook County Sheriff's office.

Police say the woman's body was dumped there and they’re looking at two crime scenes about two miles apart.

Mario Vega, who said he was the victim's neighbor, told NBC 5 she was married and the couple moved to the area about six months ago.

“We see them every day and we seen them last night, so that was crazy, my God,” he said. “They were very quiet.”

Further information on the woman's identity or circumstances surrounding the death was not immediately available.

The Cook and DuPage County Sheriffs' offices continue to investigate.

Authorities say there is no threat to the community.
