It’s supposed to be one of the proudest moments for a parent - seeing their child graduate.
But families at Eisenhower High in Blue Island are upset Thursday night — telling NBC 5 dozens of people were not allowed inside.
Some even had tickets to get in to the ceremony — but because they were late they say officers refused to let them inside.
It was unclear if they were local police or school security guards.
The tickets for the 6:30 p.m. graduation don’t say anything about late arrivals.
Parents say they were a few minutes late coming from work and were not allowed in to see their child walk across the stage.
“I told one of the officers my sons inside and my whole family inside they said it doesn’t matter,” Armando Frausto said. “We’re not letting anybody else in.”

“I was just like really upset because I was just finding them in the crowd and I was like, where are they?” Alicia Orozco, a graduate, said of her family.
Some families said they saw empty seats during graduation even though officers apparently told ticket holders the ceremony was at capacity.
“I’m not the only one upset about this. A lot of families were,” Frausto said. What are you going to do, right? How many other people were waiting out here? I’d say probably a good 70 people out here.”
A school official at Eisenhower High School said they have no comment until they can investigate what happened.
