Cubs Place Ben Zobrist on Disabled List

Zobrist is hitting over .320 with seven RBI so far this season

The Chicago Cubs will be without one of their key contributors on offense as Ben Zobrist has been placed on the disabled list.

Zobrist, who is hitting .326 with a home run and seven RBI this season, will be out of the lineup with back tightness, according to the Cubs. He had missed the team’s last two games because of the issue.

The veteran will be replaced on the roster by David Bote, who was called up prior to the team’s Saturday night game against the Colorado Rockies.

Cubs slugger Kris Bryant goes undercover as a pizza delivery guy to prank some fantasy baseball drafts.

Bote, who was hitting .234 with three home runs and eight RBI with Triple A-Iowa, will jump right into the Cubs’ lineup, hitting eighth and playing third base against the Rockies. Normal third baseman Kris Bryant will move to right field for the contest.
