Baez, Contreras Combine for Breathtaking Play vs. Reds

Javier Baez and Willson Contreras have perfected the art of throwing out base stealers for the Chicago Cubs, and they provided one more highlight on Saturday as the regular season comes to a close.

In the fourth inning of the game, Cincinnati Reds shortstop Jose Peraza attempted to steal second base with two outs.  Throwing from his knees, Contreras fired a perfect strike to Baez, who slapped the tag right into Peraza's face to record the out:

The play was a breathtaking thing of beauty, as it took a perfect throw and a well-placed tag to put a damper on Peraza's afternoon.

The Cubs are putting the finishing touches on their third straight winning season, and they will begin their playoff push next week when they take on the Washington Nationals in the National League Division Series.
