Nearly 30 shots were fired Monday morning in a deadly gas station shootout on Chicago's North Side that was caught on video, police said.
Four people were shot, a 25-year-old fatally, at an Avondale gas station near Belmont Avenue and Sacremento Street shortly before 3 a.m. Gas station employee Elise Lopez says she's frustrated by the violence.
“I have customers yelling at me, why I haven’t opened up my store and why I haven’t gotten it together, but I’m coming to clean somebody’s blood,” she said.
By Tuesday afternoon she was also removing store signs bullets piercedand inspecting a cooler that was hit by gunfire.
"I feel bad for myself, our customers, and whoever was involved," she said.
Sources in touch with investigators in the case told NBC 5 some of the people involved in the shooting are connected to gangs.

That news is disappointing but not surprising to 30-year resident Alfredo Zamora.
"I’m hearing gunshots really early in the morning," he said. "It’s not unusual to hear gunshots and a variety of gunshots. Unfortunately it’s becoming trendy."
That thought was echoed by Lopez—who’s mother was recently shot nearby when she got caught in the crossfire of a different gun fight.
"It’s nothing new around here," she said. "This is Avondale, Logan Square area is known for this."
Police are now relying on multiple surveillance cameras aimed at the action to identify everyone involved and looking for witnesses that may have fled the scene.
"Instead of retaliating, give a detective the information," community activist Andrew Holmes urged residents.
Two of the shooting victims remained in critical condition Tuesday and one was in serious condition, officials said.
