Zip Lines Coming to Cook County Forest Preserve This Summer

A walk in the woods could soon become a zip through the trees at a Cook County forest preserve this summer.

That’s because Go Ape, a company that builds treetop adventure parks across the country, is building its first course in Illinois at Bemis Woods in Western Springs.

The course will feature five zip lines, rope ladders, a log swing, a wobbly ladder, a Japanese bridge, a plank crossing, yamazoe steps, and two Tarzan swings.

The course is scheduled to open by Fourth of July weekend, the Chicago Tribune reports.

In total, it features five sections. The longest zip line will reportedly run for 600 feet.
