"You Meet Better People at Church Than a Strip Club"

A strip club is not a good place to make friends.

Giving is good. Except when you give to someone who does something bad with what you gave them.

Let's explain.

When a 50-year-old Park Forest man decided to write checks to help pay Rachel Klootwyk's bills, he thought he was something good.  She had told him she had an illness and couldn't pay her credit card and utility bills.

But then,  the 38-year-old woman he met at a suburban strip club did something bad. Park Forest police say she took his bank account information and racked up $3,700 in unauthorized charges between February and July. Klootwyk reportedly set up  the man's account to pay her bills every month -- without his permission.

"These are tough economic times for everyone, including bad guys," Park Forest Police Chief Tom Fleming told the SouthtownStar.

"Sometimes, you get what you expect. Generally, you meet better people at church than you do at a strip club."

Alas, the good-deed-turned-bad-move ends with good news for the good samaritan. Klootwyk was charged felony financial identity theft.
