Marni Yang's sentencing hearing begins Friday morning in a Lake County courtroom, the Chicago Tribune reports
 
Last March, a jury convicted Yang of murdering former Chicago Bear Shaun Gayle's girlfriend, Rhoni Reuter, in Deerfield in 2007. 
 
Reuter attempted to protect her and Gayle's unborn child from the bullets by shielding her stomach. 
 
Gayle testified that he carried on a sexual relationship with Yang before the killings. 
 
He is expected to deliver a victim impact statement during Friday's hearing, the paper reports.
 
Yang could get 45 years to life in prison.
