Wrong-Way Crash On Dan Ryan Leaves 2 Critically Injured

Two people were injured in a wrong-way crash on the Dan Ryan Sunday evening.

It happened at approximately 4:20 p.m. near 63rd St., according to the Chicago Fire Department. The wrong-way driver was going southbound in the inbound express lanes.

Investigators said two vehicles were involved.

The victim was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to authorities. Paramedics transported the wrong-way driver to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County with life threatening injuries.

Express lanes remained closed as of 5:15 p.m. as the reconstruction team headed to the scene.

This was the second wrong-way crash this weekend. Six people were injured, two critically, in a wrong-way crash involving four vehicles on the Bishop Ford Expressway early Saturday morning.
