The Lake County woman who caught a contempt charge because of her profane t-shirt will get a chance this week to show the judge she has better fashion sense.

Jennifer LaPenta, 20, was sentenced to 48 hours in Lake County Jail last month after she came to Lake County Circuit Court Associate Judge Helen Rozenberg’s courtroom wearing sweat pants and a t-shirt bearing the slogan “I have the p***y, so I make the rules.”

Monday LaPenta will ask Rozenberg to remove the contempt charge from her record.

"I'm going to be dressed up -- I'm not going to wear anything offensive," LaPenta told the Lake County News Sun.

LaPenta, who’s lawyer hinted at a First Amendment lawsuit after the incident, said she isn’t going to sue.

"I'm just looking to get it off my record. I'm not filing a lawsuit," LaPenta said.
