Woman Who Accused Derrick Rose of Rape Seeks $21.5M: Court Docs

Rose has denied the allegations

The woman who filed a lawsuit against Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose, accusing him of rape, is seeking $21.5 million in damages, court documents show.

The 29-year-old woman, who says she dated Rose from 2011 to 2013, claimed in the suit she was drugged at a Beverly Hills home in August 2013 and later attacked at her apartment by Rose and two of his friends.

Rose has denied the allegations, but the case was moved to federal court because Rose lived in Chicago during the time of the alleged incident.

In documents filed Monday, the attorney for the unidentified woman seeks $6 million in compensatory damages and $15.5 million in punitive damages. Attorney Brandon Anand also asked the court to provide the woman with $3,420 in attorney fees.

In addition to the damages, the court documents also showed reported text messages between Rose and the woman where Rose gave the woman a Beverly Hills address, which he refers to as his “home.”

The attorneys for both sides talked on Oct. 19 and agreed to exchange information in the case by Nov. 2, according to the documents.

Rose’s reps declined to comment on the matter, according to spokeswoman Lisa Cohen.

Rose addressed the allegations in September saying, “I will be proven innocent.”

“I take it as motivation,” Rose said. [[329861081, C]]

Bulls General Manager Gar Forman also addressed the suit, saying Rose has “our full support.”

“We understand there's a process that he has to go through,” he said. “Derrick is part of our family.”
