A fatal accident killed a woman on the city's South Side late Sunday night.
Authorities say the 20-year-old woman was crossing the street at a crosswalk close to 10 p.m. when a dark colored Volkswagon exited from the Dan Ryan Expressway at 87th Street. Police say the car was traveling at a high rate of speed on the ramp when it hit the victim.
The woman died on the scene.
The driver of the vehicle, a 23-year-old man, and his 24- year-old female passenger were both taken to Trinity Hospital.
No citations have been issued, and Chicago Police Major Accident Unit is investigating the fatal accident.
