A woman was listed in serious condition Tuesday evening after she was shot in the leg in an apparent robbery.
It happened at about 6:40 p.m. near East 92nd Street and South Cottage Grove Avenue, police said.
The woman was at the bus stop when she was approached by at least one man who tried to take her purse. She was shot in the leg three times, officials said.
The woman, believed to be in her 30s, managed to run to her home, an apartment complex behind the bus stop.
A purse was discovered near the scene which is believed to be the victim's.
