A 21-year-old woman was sexually assaulted while walking on the DePaul University campus early Thursday morning, according to authorities.
The woman was walking around 1:40 a.m. in the 900 block of West Belden Avenue when a man approached her from behind, pushed her to the ground and sexually assaulted her, police said. The man fled the scene on foot.
The woman, who the university said is a student at the school, was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center in good condition. A description of her attacker wasn't immediately available.
DePaul University issued a public safety alert Thursday morning. The alert said the woman was returning to her apartment at the time of the attack.
