Woman Killed After Jumping Out of Moving Car on I-94

The reason the woman jumped from the car is not known at this time

A Chicago woman has died after she jumped from a moving car on Interstate 94 Saturday morning.

The 34-year-old woman was riding as a passenger in a blue Ford Escape when she jumped from the car for unknown reasons, according to preliminary information from the Illinois State Police.

The car was traveling northbound just south of 130th Street when the woman jumped onto the expressway, police said.

The passenger was identified as Monique Lofton, of the 11100 block of South Esmond, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Lofton was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where she was pronounced dead at 11:33 a.m., the medical examiner’s office said.

The driver of the car was identified as a 55-year-old woman from Chicago.
