Woman Missing from Uptown Assisted Living Facility

Dionysus Ames, 48, who has bipolar disorder, walked away from the facility last week and never came back

Police are searching for a woman who was reported missing from her assisted living facility Sunday morning in the Uptown neighborhood on the North Side.

Dionysus Ames, 48, walked away from Thresholds at about 9 a.m. Sunday in the 1000 block of West Lawrence Avenue and did not return, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

Ames has bipolar disorder, but did not have restrictions on coming and going from the facility, police said.

She is described as a 6-foot, 150-pound black woman with brown eyes, black hair and a medium complexion, police said.
