Woman Injured During Shootout in Indiana Jewel Parking Lot

A woman in her 20s was taken to a hospital with a graze wound to the back of the head, police said

A woman was wounded in a shootout Sunday night in a grocery store parking lot in northwest Indiana.

Witnesses told investigators several shots were exchanged between at least two groups of people in the Jewel parking lot in the 700 block of Ridge Road in Munster, Indiana about 10 p.m., according to a statement from Munster police. 

A woman in her 20s was taken to a hospital with a graze wound to the back of the head, police said. Her injury was not thought to be life-threatening. 

The front window of the Jewel was shot out and several vehicles were also struck by gunfire, police said.
