Who is the Mayor of Cleveland? Wikipedia Page Briefly Edited With Surprising Answer During Cubs-Indians World Series

Do you know who the mayor of Cleveland is? If you tried to look it up on Wikipedia last night, you probably saw a surprising answer.

Kyle Schwarber.

That’s right, the Chicago Cubs slugger was strategically added to the Cleveland Wikipedia page after the team’s thrilling Game 2 victory over the Cleveland Indians in the World Series Wednesday night.

In that game, Schwarber continued to shine during his remarkable return from an injury that had kept him off the roster for nearly all of the regular season and the postseason.

On Wednesday night, Schwarber hammered his first RBI of the season, giving the team a 2-0 lead in the third inning.

It’s clear fans are excited about the star hitter’s resurgence, but despite his success, Schwarber is not actually the mayor of Cleveland. That title belongs to Frank G. Jackson.

The Schwarber prank wasn’t the only interesting Wikipedia change spotted Wednesday.

Indians pitcher Trevor Bauer, who started in Game 2 of the World Series, was listed as “a professional drone enthusiast who also plays baseball for the Cleveland Indians of Major League Baseball.”

Bauer suffered a well-publicized injury earlier this postseason when he sliced open his pinkie finger while playing with a drone.

A Cubs fan even sent him a drone as a gag gift with a note that read in part, “Hi Trevor, Go Cubs Go!”
