Chicago Weather

Wet Weather Ahead, But Will It Stay for the 2017 Chicago Marathon?

Chicago is about to get some much needed rain, but how long will it last?

Thankfully for Bank of America Chicago marathon runners, it won't last until Sunday. But it will stick around for several days and could dump as much as 2 inches of rain on the Chicago area.

The first round of showers began Wednesday morning, but was expected to move out by the afternoon.

Another round of rain is expected late Thursday afternoon and into the evening. Moderate to heavier rain is expected overnight with a few storms possible.

On Friday, periods of rain and isolated thunderstorms are forecast to continue through the morning and again in the evening.

Early predictions indicate the rain and showers will linger through Saturday afternoon and evening before coming to an end.

If that early forecast holds true, that would make for a dry Chicago Marathon.

Temperature highs are expected to stay in the 70s through the weekend.

During the start of the marathon, temperatures are currently slated to be in the upper-50s.
