It looks like the kickoff to Chicago’s spring running season will be met with spring-like weather.
Despite a chilly and windy Saturday, weather conditions are set to improve drastically Sunday.
That’s good news for Shamrock Shuffle runners.
The road race steps off at 8:30 a.m. in Chicago’s Grant Park and is hailed as the race that kicks off the outdoor running season for Chicagoans. Though temps are expected to reach into the upper 50s Sunday afternoon, runners will likely see temps in the 30s at the starting line.
Runners may want to bring an extra layer or two for the start of the event, but may be able to shed those garments by the time they cross the finish line!

Things appear to stay spring-like for the start of the week, with a high of 64 degrees forecast for Monday, which is also the kickoff to Chicago’s baseball season. There is a chance for rain during the afternoon hours, which could make for a damp start for Chicago Sox fans.
But despite the near 60-degree days ahead, things will look to cool back down into the 40s for the remainder of the week, starting the month of April with a chance for showers.
And we don’t need to tell you what April showers bring.
