A postal worker died Tuesday night at a Waukegan post office from self-inflicted wounds, according to a postal service spokesman.

The 22-year-old employee took his life at the post office at 326 N. Genesee St., U.S. Postal Service spokesman Sean Hardagon told The Chicago Tribune.

The post office was closed Wednesday morning, but mail delivery continued.

Artis Yancey, Lake County Coroner, said an autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.

The man's identity has not yet been released.
