Wauconda Woman Saved From Mud Pit

Rescuers dig woman out after five hours buried up to her shoulders

A Wauconda woman was trapped in mud for hours before officials were able to drag her out Monday night.

It happened around 6 p.m. on East Liberty Street, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Officials said she became buried up to her shoulders while trying to clear a beaver dam.

The woman was trapped for five hours until someone heard her cries for help and rescuers were able to dig her out.

She was taken to an area hospital and was expected to be OK.
