Wal-Mart Worker Accused Of Serial Oreo Thefts

Police say woman admits stealing cookies over past seven years

Penny White faces one felony count of theft.

Police say a Wal-Mart worker was literally caught with her hand in the cookie jar.

Penny Winters, 63, was allegedly caught on surveillance tape eating a package of Oreos she hadn't paid for at the Portage, Ind., store earlier this month, according to the Post-Tribune.

According to a store investigator, Winters -- a full-time maintenance worker -- admitted stealing cookies once or twice a week over the past seven months at the Indiana store, and over the past seven years at an Arizona Wal-Mart store she previously worked at.

Winters is charged with one count of felony theft.
